Biggie | Second Chance Akita Rescue

This handsome boy is 2 year old Biggie. He is being reluctantly rehomed due to illness in the family. Our assessor fell in love with him immediately, saying he is a gentle, calm and affectionate boy, who enjoys a good fuss. He has a good level of basic training but can pull a bit on the lead with excitement when going out. A head collar may help until he realises he doesn't need to be so excited when going for a walk. He was attacked by another dog when he was a puppy and is understandably anxious around other dogs, although shows no aggression. It would be good for him for a new owner to help him overcome this fear with controlled and calm introductions with friendly dogs so he learns that not all dogs are to be feared. Although he currently lives with teenage children he is used to regular visits with a 3 year old grandchild. The owner says he is very calm with her and will take treats very gently. Although he lives with a cat, as we know with the breed this doesn’t mean he would accept another. Due to his fear of other dogs he needs a home on his own. All in all Biggie would be a lovely addition to any family. If this boy is for you please complete the adoption form
