Beautiful Nellie is 7 years old and recently came into our care after she had been found with her owner who had passed away 3 weeks earlier, and two other dogs, Sasha & Linda. Sasha is thriving in foster and Linda the staffie has been adopted by the owners of one of her puppies. Be good girls and enjoy yourselves.
Nellie absolutely craves love, she is such a people dog and can’t get enough affection. She can be a little too keen for fuss and will jump up until she gets attention. She is a clever girl and will soon learn that jumping up is not the way to gain that attention. The kennel team are working on the stay command with her and this is going really well. She is learning that if she sits and stays then fuss comes to her. She is strong on the lead, but again, once she has been out for a few minutes she soon settles to a steadier pace. It is clear to see that Nellie hasn’t had much outside time exploring and sniffing so she just loves being able to do that now. She could live with dog savvy children aged 10 years and over. She could also live with a neutered male dog after a successful introduction. She is good with all dogs but will react if they behave aggressively towards her.
It’s worth remembering that Nellie was obviously traumatised by her experience so she will have these quirks that will need to be ironed out.
